Setting
1. Jamie's house 2. Jamie's best friend's house 3. Mrs. Houser's backyard 4. Mrs. Mullin's woodsy backyard 5. A stranger's car 6. Funeral parlor 7. Funeral chapel 8. A man's backyard 9. A berry patch Events 1. Jamie get his best friend into trouble. First of all, they picked blackberries off of somebody else's berry patch. Next, Jamie steals apples from a man's backyard. The man had a gun! Now this next thing isn't necessarily Jamie's fault. His best friend agreed with Mrs. Houser that he would scrape Japanese Beetles off of her grapevines with all of the other kids on the street. 2. Jamie, his sister Martha, and his friend go up and down their street to ask all of their friends to help. After they were done, they go up a small hill and stare down at their town. Martha asked to see their school since she hadn't seen it before. They offer to walk her there since it was only two blocks away. About one block in to the walk it starts to rain. I mean it was no summer shower, it was thundering, lightninging, and the clouds were as dark as a black sheep. They hitched a ride back home with some one from their school's dad. When they got home, Jamie's mother was not happy about they idea, but Jamie lied his way out of that……AGAIN. 3. Soon after, the sun came out and all of the kids started scraping the beetles. While all of the other kids were working, Jamie was messing with a bee hive. He stuck a long stick up through the hole and awakened the bees. A few moments later, the bees came swarming out at everyone. While everyone else was running around screaming, his friend stayed put, and so did Jamie next to the hive. His friend ran to his house. When he turned back he saw Jamie dramatically to the ground, so he left Jamie there. His friend went inside for awhile. When he came back outside, he saw Mrs. Houser was standing outside next to Jamie's mother who looked worried. Next, that he knew, he heard a faint siren noise. It grew louder and louder and next thing he knew an ambulance was pulling Jamie onto a stretcher, heading to the hospital. 4. After the ambulance pulled away, his mom took Jamie's baby brother in her arms and headed to his house. Martha and Jamie's best friend followed her. His friend and Martha played in his play room until his mother pulled him aside. she broke the news to him that Jamie was died. He didn't believe her, so he tried to believe he was still there. He did not eat, he did not play with the other kids, and he didn't care about going to the funeral parlor. 5. He sat in the bathtub, all soapy. His mother and father were going to the funeral parlor. He refused to go, but then decided to go because he thought Jamie would feel his appreciation. fkadlfkdflklfjherherpulled him asi- 4444fjkfljfofrr56. His friend snuck into his backyard neighbor's woodsy area. Her name was Mrs. Mullin. They both talked about Jamie's death and how it's hard for everyone, especially him. After a long while of silence, Mrs. Mullin gets up. His friend realizes that she did that so he could be alone. Later that day, him and his family go to Jamie's funeral. After that, in bed he prays the God that Jamie will remember him. 7. At the funeral his friend saw Heather and sat nest to her. They didn't talk, but they spoke with their eyes. Jamie's funeral remembered his friend of his Uncle Jonah's funeral, boring and long. After the funeral, they all went to the cemetery. His friend imagined Jamie being there and saying,"Wow, that's a huge hole." 8. Jamie's friend picked blackberries for Jamie's and his family. He picked the ripest for Jamie's family. His mom told Jamie's friend that he can come into her house anytime because he was just like Jamie. |
